Irene A. Bowlin

        Irene A. Bowlin, age 90, of Elkville, IL, died at 1:10 a.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2003, in the Pinckneyville Community Hospital Skilled Care Unit.
	Irene was born May 8, 1913 in DuQuoin, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Kate (Oestreicher) Wendling.  She was married to Milton P. Bowlin on April 18, 1934, in DuQuoin, IL, and he preceded her in death on August 21, 1980.  Irene had worked as a seamstress for various garment factories.  She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in DuQuoin, a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Farm Bureau and also a member of the Illinois Garment Workers Union
	Survivors include two sons:  Charles T. Bowlin of Murphysboro, IL, and Milton  J. Bowlin, of Carbondale, IL three daughters:  Virginia Wayman and husband Richard, Jean Jones and husband Paul, and Janet Bowlin, all of DuQuoin, thirteen grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson:  Mark Allen Crews, four brothers:  Valentine Wendling, Albert Wendling, Adolph Wendling, and Joe Wendling, and four sisters:  Bertha Wendling, Emma Valerius Anderson, Matilda Petry, and Lula Emling Malzahn.
	Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood & Epplin Funeral Home in DuQuoin on Tuesday, November 11, 2003 from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. and then on Wednesday, November 12, 2003, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., with the Rosary Service immediately following.
	Funeral Services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2003, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in DuQuoin, with Monsignor Harry Jerome officiating.  Interment was in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in DuQuoin.
	Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church or School.
